Joanne Fishburn

I’d like to introduce you to our newest employee. Joanne Fishburn has recently joined the Creode team as our new digital producer. As a producer, Joanne is responsible for the overall leadership of our new and existing clients accounts across all areas of the company. Joanne is the 4th new member of our team in as many weeks, as we are quickly growing into our lush new Leeds studio. In this blog we sit down and get to know our new producer a little more..

What is your role at Creode? My official job title is Producer, but being a newbie, I’m still getting to grips with what that means!

Real age?  23

Experience? This is the first time I’ve worked in a marketing agency, but previous to that I worked for 1 year at my university as Student Experience Assistant. This included supporting students, organizing events and generally benchmarking ourselves against other universities! Just before I started at Creode, I attended the Institute of Direct & Digital Marketing summer school too. Oh, and if reading marketing magazines counts as experience, then that too!

Where do you call home? Since my parents will probably read this… Darlington! I was born there, and only moved to venture off to university. I decided to retreat back up north when I realized southerners don’t understand us northern folk.

Which University did you attend and what degree did you complete? I went to Royal Holloway in Egham, Surrey. I did a Media Arts degree and then went on to do a Marketing Masters, during which time I never slept.

What do you like to do in your spare time, any particular hobbies? I love running, but balance this out with chocolate-eating sessions at home. I’m scarily into the TV series 24 at the moment, so most nights consist of TV marathons. I also enjoy helping out at a local Scout group and go to church when I can.

What is the best thing to wake up to in the morning? Dare I be cheesy? My boyfriend! We’ve just moved in together, so we haven’t got bored of seeing each other’s faces yet, but it’ll come.

Your favourite design software? Instagram.. that counts right?

If you were a box of cereal, what would you be and why? Rice Crispies… because when I’m in a mood it doesn’t take much before I snap, I always like a joke, so you’ll often here me cackle (and cackle sounds like crackle..) and I’m pretty enthusiastic… some would say I ‘pop’ with ideas! To conclude… I’m like snap, crackle and pop.

If you were stranded on an island, which 3 things would you bring and why? Coffee, because I’ll never be awake without it, a football that I’ll avidly name ‘Wilson’ because Tom Hanks seemed to have a heck of a lot of fun with his football friend Wilson, and a camera, so I can take photos of the experience (if I ever make it back to the Creode office to show people)!

What type of music are you into? Most things to be honest! I grew up with my Mum and Dad’s varying music tastes so it’s opened my ears to most things!

What’s your favourite flavour Jelly Belly? I seem to remember marshmallow flavour was the only one I could ever stomach…

Which celebrity is your fave? Jennifer Lawrence – even though she’s become so famous, she’s still refreshingly down-to-earth.

What do you like about Creode so far? Definitely the staff – everyone’s been incredibly welcoming so far, and it’s only day 4! People always have time to help and it’s a really collaborative atmosphere.
