Creode’s development team has grown again this month, with the appointment of another ‘full stack’ developer who will be based in our Leeds office. In this article we get to learn a little more about Michal Lapeusz. Michal is an experienced developer with great knowledge of both front and backend website development.
Web developers – also known as web programmers – make websites ‘do things’. In other words, they develop a site’s ‘functionality’ and ‘interactivity’. So if you use the web to do things like book a flight, comment on forums, view a bank balance, report a fault… and countless other tasks, then a web developer will have been involved in making sure it all works smoothly. We fired some fun questions to Michal so we can all learn a little more about our new team member.
What is your role at Creode? – I’m a Web Developer. I’m responsible for creating new and tweaking old sites, to make sure everything works and looks as it should.
Real age? – 23
Previous experience? – After leaving university, for the past year and a half, I’ve worked as a Web designer/developer for a company called Chapter Eight. That role mainly focused on front end development of web solutions.
Where do you call home? – I’m originally from Poland, but have lived in England for nearly 8 years. So I would say Leeds is my new home.
Which University did you attend and what degree did you complete? – I graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University with a BSC Computing degree.
What’s your favourite piece of design software? – I’d have to say Photoshop, purely because it’s multipurpose (for creating visuals as well as tweaking photos) and it is straightforward to use, once you get to know it a bit.
What do you like to do in your spare time, any particular hobbies? – Can watching a TV series be a hobby? I do that quite a lot. I also enjoy travelling, discovering new places, cultures and their cuisine.
Where is your favourite place to eat in Leeds? – La Tasca! Everytime I’m there, it makes me feel like I’m back on holidays in Spain. Shame the meal only last for couple of hours and then I have to go back to reality.
It’s your turn to sing at the karaoke bar, which song would you choose? – I can’t sing and my music taste is quite alternative, so I probably would struggle to find a song that I know and like. But if I had to choose one, I’d probably go for a karaoke classic like Build Me Up Buttercup.
What is your biggest pet hate? – I don’t hate many things, if any at all. If I had to be really picky I’d probably say untidyness.
If you were a box of cereal, which would you be? – Frosties, because they’re sweet out of the box.
If you were stranded on an island, which 3 things would you bring? – Laptop, charger and fiberoptic internet, so then I can order the rest of things I will need.
What’s your favourite flavour Jelly Bean? – Orange, orange is always good.
Favourite Celebrity? – Alex Gaskarth, as I really enjoy his sense of humour.
If there was a movie made about your life, who would play you? – Brad Pitt, because why the hell not?
What do you like about Creode so far? – Passionate people with a great amount of knowledge that are always willing to help or advise. They are also a friendly bunch that keep me smiling throughout the day.
