Following on from our interview last month with director of strategy Shay Moradi, we decided to hand the content keys over to Vick Briggs.
How would I describe my life at Creode?
Interesting! Well, it’s completely crazy! But, I wouldn’t have it any other way, because you're always on your toes and constantly diving into various tasks and projects, both existing and new.
If I could describe my “typical” day, it would mostly consist of catching up with different members of the team on the various projects we're working on in a project management capacity, liaising with our clients and ensuring they’re happy, and possibly, the occasional moan about the often strange choice of music emanating from the studio sound system.
Before Creode, I worked for another digital agency called Woven, where I spent about two-and-a-half years in a similar position, learning the ropes and delving dangerously deep into the world of development and design.
Current projects
At the moment, I’m overseeing the work on a new website for Sipsmith, and because I’m a huge lover of gin, this has turned out to be a particularly exciting project. Did I mention the free samples?!
We’re also completing a new website for a multi-site law firm, working on a new paid media strategy for Lightbulbs Direct, and conducting a large-scale resource migration project for higher education pioneers, Advance HE, so it’s busy, busy, busy!
I think one of my strengths is that I’m pretty calm and good at diffusing stressful situations. I try to encourage positivity and motivation whenever possible, whilst ensuring that we remain honest to the people we are working with and deliver projects on time and within budget.
Due to a strict time frame, one recent project had the potential to become quite stressful and really test the skills of myself and the team. Fortunately though, I was able to draw on several years of experience, which meant we met the deadline, within budget, and it actually turned out to be one of the most stress-free projects we've ever had!
The future
Looking ahead to the next 12 months and beyond, there’s plenty to sink our teeth into at Creode, and it’s a really exciting time to be at the agency.
Personally, I'm really intrigued to see what happens around the subject of accessibility. We've been concentrating on improving our every aspect of delivery to ensure we don't neglect anything that isn't immediately obvious. As an example we prioritised accessibility and went above the brief for Advance HE, this resulted in a high accessibility rating for that site delivery. I feel this is important because it means we're able to demonstrate to clients just how critical an area it is directly through the work we do. There are other examples too, including some of the work we've done alongside Scope and Virgin which highlight our capability in this area.
So, in a nutshell, there’s a snapshot of my life as a producer at Croede. Challenging? Yes, but we’ve a team of experts that are all striving to improve, and ultimately, this shines through the work we produce for our clients.
