As a digital marketing agency, we're used to working from home. But we're also more than aware that working from home—especially during the current situation—comes with its own set of challenges. You may be sharing the new 'office' with four-legged friends—many of whom don't feel like sticking to your schedule. Worst still, we might be talking two-legged little ones, who need even more of your attention. At all the wrong times.

But there is a flip side. The commute may have been reduced from getting in your car and driving ten miles to your office, to getting in your slippers and walking ten yards to your laptop. Colleagues won't be grabbing as many quick words. You may be grabbing a couple of precious hours to really knuckle down and get things done.

You may well actually have more time on your hands. If your company is enrolling in the Government's Coronavirus Job Retention program, you may have been furloughed. So, as a digital marketing agency, we want to spread the digital marketing knowledge around and put some FREE—or almost free—courses on your radar, many of which come with industry-recognised qualifications. Let's see what's out there ...

Social Media

Want to upskill your social media knowledge beyond how to use Facebook and Instagram? Take a look at these courses which cover social media strategy, advertising, ethics, monitoring and creating viral content.

SEO

With SEO there are many, many opinions on what’s important, how to do it right—and things to avoid at all costs. More than with other disciplines, mastering SEO is about digesting lots of opinions, staying up to date with changes to search engine algorithms and developing your own approach to optimising a website for search visibility.

A good starting point is Google’s guide to SEO. Whilst they’re not going to give away all of their secrets, it does contain a lot of useful information and pointers about how to optimise. It’s also bang up to date, so there’s no danger of learning something that was discredited 10 years ago.

Beyond that, there are any number of courses and resources out there to learn from. We’ve listed a few below:
