Across the weekend of the 24-26 January, Creode hosted Drupal’s Global Contribution Weekend. It was an honour for us to be one of only two companies in the UK, and 30 worldwide, to host.
Drupal’s Global Contribution Weekend is an annual worldwide event. As such, it brings together a diverse group of people to tackle a particular themed Drupal challenge.
Tis time it was all about “Drupal 9 Readyness.” The challenge was to make sure that the modules that work in Drupal 8, also work in Drupal 9.

The day got going at 10:00am, where attendees were greeted with plenty of refreshments. This was followed by a pizza bonanza at lunch, to help keep minds buzzing.
And it wasn't just about collaboration between Drupal digital agencies. We were working, talking and thrashing out ideas with companies from other sectors, consultants and freelance devs. So there was a real drupal community vibe going on - and we loved it! Not only that, mentors were also on hand on Saturday morning. They helped new contributors understand how to collaborate with the remote Drupal communities, and set-up all the tools they require.
Overall, the weekend was a great success and we’re already looking forward to the next one in 2021!
