Okay, which Leeds digital marketing agency—not one used to blowing its own trumpet—is the one that feels the most humbled, yet over the moon, right now?

The agency that’s just designed and built the site for the increasingly-famous Leeds Digital Festival, that’s who.

Creode loves Leeds Digital Festival

… we have done, ever since we first helped out with the festival site. That was way back in 2014. And wow, has it gone from strength to strength, since then.

Now, hosted jointly online and physically (current restrictions, allowing) around a wide variety of organisations and venues in Leeds, the festival reaches audiences around the globe. In fact, last year’s festival hosted 428 events across two Covid-interrupted time slots and welcomed over 45,000 attendees, reaching over 60 countries. We’ve created the new site to build on those impressive figures.

We love Leeds, too

As a Leeds digital marketing agency, we’re perfectly positioned, not only in the heart of the UK’s most burgeoning and ambitious digital centre, but also, slap-bang in the middle of a city that’s really going places. Here’s why:

  • Leeds has one of the fastest growing digital economies, outside London
  • It has a digital GVA of £1.3bn
  • Leeds hosts the North’s highest proportion of scale-up digital companies, with 9,000 alone in the Leeds City Region
  • The region employs 102,000 people in digital roles
  • The city is host to Channel 4’s national HQ and has 9 universities with an annual output of almost 18,000 STEAM grads.

… not to mention a wealth of digital and marketing agencies in Leeds, that we are very proud to be part of.

So, with these kind of figures, it’s plain to see why we were overjoyed to be asked to work on Leeds Digital Festival for a second time.

A brief overview

Thanks to the wonderful guys at LDF, we were able to work to a great brief for which accessibility was very high on the agenda. We designed the site to not only meet WCAG standards, but also to have clear, concise messaging that reflected both the Festival’s aim of hosting digital events for everyone, as well as our joint ambitions to make the site as accessible as possible.

As we go to press, we’re working on new features as we build up to the event announcement date at the end of August.

With a client that’s been an absolute pleasure to work with throughout, it’s been—and will continue to be—a blast. Here’s to a fantastic Leeds Digital Festival 2021.
